My first New Zealand getaway

Last weekend I had a quick weekend away to New Zealand; Count’s motherland!

Unfortunately Cyclone Lusi hit New Zealand which meant that Saturday was a non-stop rain with 120km/hr wind in the afternoon!

This didn’t stop us from enjoying our time in New Zealand as Count’s family operates a small but very bountiful orchards full of figs, avocados, citrus and plums!

The lifestyle was so different from what I am used to in Sydney where they just walk down their driveway to pick up limes for the drinks, basket full of figs lying around the house, fig jam stewing in the kitchen and collecting eggs from their chicken.

Count’s family cat, Ted was kind enough to be my patient and elegant muse and I have a perfect souvenir from my too quick of a trip to New Zealand.

Cheers to letting go,
