Self sketch – May 24

Today’s self- sketch is a side profile.

I enjoyed drawing with a black inky pen then photoshopping the colour and removing some colour to reveal the ink lines underneath it.

Intently studying my side profile is something I am not use to and it made me realise that this exercise is pushing me to look at myself from a different angle and to appreciate objects that I am blind to because they simply blend into the background.

My face is something that I see everyday but by consciously, purposefully looking at my face to self-sketch I feel like I am properly ‘seeing’ my face.

With my fourth sketch, it is teaching me self-awareness and to be more mindful of my surrounding, which is a humbling experience.

Cheers to letting go,
